White Mountains Insurance says it may buy back up to 1 million shares

White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd. announced Friday that it has expanded its share repurchase program and now has authorization to buy back an additional 1 million shares of its own stock.

This adds to the roughly 31,000 shares that it is still authorized to buyback under an existing plan.

White Mountains is a financial services holding company based in Bermuda with roughly 6.64 million shares outstanding.

Its stock price fell $5.72 to $524.28 in midday trading.
