WholeLife Companies Forges Strategic Alliance with The Weitz Company for Construction Services

WholeLife Companies, a developer of a trademarked concept in luxury rental living communities, today announced the finalizing of a strategic alliance with The Weitz Company for the construction of WholeLife’s communities nationwide.

WholeLife communities are lease-based communities that respond not only to the documented requirements and desires of today’s active and demanding adults, but satisfy a need unfulfilled by any other residential product. The Weitz Company will serve as general contractor and provide general construction services during a nationwide roll-out of WholeLife’s Traditions communities.

The WholeLife Traditions community consists of 100 to 150 single-level residences, from 1500 to 2000 square feet, with the look and feel of fine traditional houses appropriate to the surrounding community. Landscaping, sidewalks, and streetlights complete the look and feel of a traditional American neighborhood. Each community includes an expansive and functional WholeLife Club as a focal point for neighborhood life, containing space for gatherings and events, a state of the art fitness center, pool, game room and community services such as the concierge. Everything is included in monthly rental fees.

WholeLife communities fulfill market preferences for healthy living, integrated fitness and wellness in a maintenance free environment, without requiring a large capital outlay for purchase. WholeLife communities are a decidedly upscale lease based concept designed to support a better, smarter, healthier and more convenient lifestyle.

“We couldn’t be more pleased than to partner with The Weitz Company in the growth and construction of our communities,” said John B. Lowery, Founder and CEO of the WholeLife Companies. “Their nationwide experience and passion for quality is a perfect fit for us and the growing demand of our lease-based communities.”

WholeLife is currently developing three Traditions communities, in Chattanooga, TN, Cibolo Canyon (San Antonio), TX, and The Woodlands (Houston) TX. Ground breaking has already begun in Chattanooga, with the remaining two projects to begin by the first quarter of 2014. In addition, WholeLife has identified additional locations for further communities, including an additional location in Houston, TX, as well as Austin and Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; Branson, MO; and Pigeon Forge, TN.

Founded in Des Moines, Iowa in 1855, The Weitz Company is a full-service general contractor, design-builder and construction manager with office locations throughout the U.S. and experience in all 50 states.
