Six months after the launch of Microsoft's (MSFT) Windows 8 operating system, just 3.8% of PC users are using it, according to April figures from Net Applications. In March, it accounted for 3.2% global market share. Meantime, iPad maker Apple (AAPL) lost ground in tablets in Q1, according to market research firm IDC. It ended Q1 with 39.6% market share, down from 58.1% a year ago, even as the overall tablet market grew 142% to 49.2 mil units. Microsoft shares fell 1.2% to 32.72. Apple fell 0.8% to 439.29.
