Windstream appoints new chairman as position rotates within board

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Phone company Windstream Corp. on Monday said board member Jeffrey Hinson will become chairman on May 1, relieving Dennis Foster, who will continue as a board member.

The Little Rock, Ark., company typically considers whether to rotate in another board member to the chairman position after a three-year term. It also separates the CEO and chairman positions.

Foster, a former Sprint executive, has been chairman since 2010. Hinson is the former chief financial officer of Univision Communication Inc. and the former CEO of broadcaster Border Media Partners.
