Wyoming.com Deploys Exalt Wireless Systems to Deliver Fiber-Speed Connectivity to Rural Areas

Exalt Systems Enable WISP to Bring Voice, Data, Video, and Internet Services to Subscribers Across Wyoming

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 25, 2014) - Exalt Communications, Inc., the leading innovator of next-generation wireless connectivity systems for private networks and Internet infrastructures, today announced that Wyoming.com, a wireless Internet service provider (WISP) serving the state of Wyoming, has deployed Exalt Air Series systems to serve as the backbone of its network and provide fiber-speed voice, data, video, and Internet services to more than 3,000 customers across Wyoming.

Fiber infrastructure is scarce in rural Wyoming, so microwave is the only practical way to build out the network. Wyoming.com sister company Cerento -- a microwave and power systems design, engineering, and construction firm -- deployed the systems. Cerento and Wyoming.com selected Exalt systems from among all others on the market because of many factors, including performance, reliability, scalability, ease of use, and extended warranty.

"We needed bulletproof connectivity in a variety of licensed frequency bands, and Exalt offers a broad selection and the ability to scale up to a gigabit per-second," said Eric Nowland, Network Operations Manager at Cerento. "Our engineering team really likes the ease of managing the equipment through Exalt's user-friendly GUI."

Thus far, Cerento has deployed 25 microwave links for the Wyoming.com network, including Exalt ExtremeAir, ExploreAir, and ExtendAir systems in the 6, 11, and 18 GHz frequency bands. The systems carry from 50 megabits per-second up to 1 gigabit per-second of Ethernet traffic to support Wyoming.com services.

"With high performance, scalability, ease of deployment, and reliability that often exceeds that of fiber, Exalt systems are being put to use by multimedia service providers like Wyoming.com to eliminate the digital divide that exists between urban and rural consumers," said Amir Zoufonoun, CEO of Exalt. "Equally important, Exalt systems enable these WISPs to build networks profitably in areas where climate and terrain are challenging, and fiber is cost-prohibitive or nonexistent."
