Yahoo discloses FISA details

The Web portal said it received more than 12,000 data requests from gov't agencies in the 6 months ended May 31, as it became the latest of the largest Internet companies to report such information. Internet leaders have been reacting to leaked documents that reportedly show the federal gov't can fairly easily acquire data under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA. The "most common" requests for Yahoo (YHOO) user data are for criminal investigations, including fraud, homicides and kidnappings, it says. Shares rose 0.5%.
