Winners and losers

Stocks starting the week on a down note include drugmaker Abbvie on a Cowen downgrade citing underwhelming data presented at cancer conference ASCO; Harley Davidson shares stuck in reverse following a Goldman downgrade; and Adamis Pharmaceuticals tumbling after the FDA questioned the company's new drug application for treating severe allergic reactions.

Stocks in the green today include Devon Energy on the sale of $1 billion in non-core, upstream assets; Whole Foods on a positive Barron's mention over the weekend; and Juno Therapeutics, jumping after it announced promising clinical data for one of its leukemia treatments. Juno is also presenting at the ASCO conference this week.

Looking ahead

  • In the morning, we'll get non-farm productivity and costs for the first quarter. Economists are expecting a 0.6% drop in productivity quarter over quarter.

  • Later in the day we'll get consumer credit figures for April. The Street is expecting the gauge to climb $18 billion based on strong consumer spending in the month.

  • Finally, the race for 2016 hits a new milestone as nominating season comes to end, with states California and New Jersey holding Democratic and GOP primaries. Hillary Clinton is only 71 delegates short of clinching the Democratic nomination, which she is expected to obtain.
