Search companies like Google (GOOG) and Yahoo have made local-search technology a priority as their aim is to geo-target search results to mobile users. Those on-the-go users might, say, be searching for a nearby restaurant, so they're seen more inclined to make purchases based on search results or ads. Yelp (YELP) has a similar deal with Apple's (AAPL) Siri. Yelp shares rose 3.1% to 92.79. Yahoo fell 0.2% to 37.50.
