Most yoga students are unknowingly wearing see-through pants to class, at least according to one Manhattan yoga teacher.

"About 80% of my students wear too-sheer pants to class and have no idea," Katharine Goerlich, who works at Midtown-based Om Factory, told Business Insider.  "The teacher is really the only one who notices the sheerness because all other students are in poses and shouldn’t be seeing what’s happening when you bend over."

"It’s not anything new," she added. "It’s just the way it is."

The issue of see-through yoga pants first arose in March, when  Lululemon Athletica had to recall about 17% of its yoga pants for being too sheer. Now the company is fielding new complaints about quality issues in the replacement pants, which cost $98, Business Insider reported last week .

Goerlich, who doesn’t shop at Lululemon, said she was a little surprised that the sheer pants became such an issue for the retailer.

"I’m sure a lot of my [yoga] pants, if I bend over, you could see my underwear," she said. "But if you are spending $90 to $100 on a pair of pants I can understand why you would have that expectation" that they wouldn’t be sheer, she added.

She said students shouldn’t be too concerned about how sheer their pants are.

"When I was a student, I never noticed it," she said, explaining that there are only a few yoga positions where you can see another person bending over in front of you. "I only realized how you could see everything once I became a teacher."
