798 Art District

The 798 Art District, located in the eastern outskirt of Beijing, is often compared to New York City's Greenwich Village. It is a thriving community of about 400 galleries, shops and restaurants on the eastern edge of Beijing housed in a complex of former electronics factories built with the help of East Germany in the 1950s.
