The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is the world's second largest aquarium in the world; the largest is the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia. Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium resides on 200,000 sq. ft. of land in the township of motobu in Okinawa, Japan. There are 77 tanks containing 350,000 cubic ft. of water with deep sea creatures, sharks and tropical fish.
It also holds over 80 species of coral, and it is one of the few institutions that keeps and tries to breed whale sharks in captivity.
