Former Texas tycoon R. Allen Stanford was sentenced to 110 years in prison for a $7 billion Ponzi scheme, one of the largest in U.S. history. Bernard Madoff

Bernie Madoff is currently in prison at the Butner Federal Correction Complex in North Carolina. He was sentenced to 150 years in prison in 2009 for operating a $65 billion Ponzi scheme, the largest in American history through his firm, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. His convictions included charges of fraud, money laundering and perjury. Some of his victims started receiving money back in October 2011.
