Some major tour operators in Germany, one of the world's biggest spenders on foreign holidays, will shortly resume flying tourists to Egypt, although others said they would wait for government advice on safety to change.
Many travel firms halted trips to the country after violence broke out in July and August and governments advised vactioners to stay away. Accounting for around 11 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) in Egypt, tourism is vital to the country's economy.
