They say that the average age of car on the road is 11 years. Remember a car is only transportation. A well made car will last a long time if it is maintained according to the manufacturer's manual.

First off, with this economy, how can I buy new? Why would I buy new anyway? All of the parts are sourced from the lowest bidder, and the overseas suppliers are usually the ones who win these bids. I own a 1968 Chevy 1/2 ton 2wd truck, it (used to be) all American. I can no longer buy parts for it that are American made!

Thanks to the invasion of the japs and their tin can cars the US economy continues to be flushed. Keep buying foreign cars from companies that pay low wages and crappy benefits and see what happens down the road. You think the economy is bad now? Don't give me any crap either because I've driven all American cars since I've been driving (1982) and I don't have any complaints. I just bought a 2007 GMC Sierra Vortec Max 6.0L 4X4 Crew Cab w/ leather, sunroof, BOSE...the whole enchilada, and I'm here to say it is bad #$%$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So put that in you pipe and smoke it all you gay sissy anti American pansies!! Buy GM, Ford, Chrysler and support the USA!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to go Jeff! I know that the Duramax is one great truck, but I bet that my 1968 Chevy has more American made components in it than yours does. (Sorry). I still support "Buy American" over anything foreign named.

Good luck Jeff. You bought Pre-Gov't Chevy. Today, you cannot buy that sweet 6.0L engine unless you go to a 3/4 ton. You see, the gov't has removed all the big engines from the Chevy lineup. Even the Suburban can only boast of a 5.3 liter engine. Imagine that. A 7,000 lb vehicle with no ability to get out of its own way. Sad to say, but I will no longer be buying Chevy.

BMW, Kia, Toyota, Honda all build in the U.S. of A. By Americans.

I am going to leave Yahoo. This is getting ridiculous. They are going under anyway and for good reason. They didn't even have the correct headline for this article! It wasn't about Buffet slamming Romney. It was the tax code. On top of that, Romney didn't have earned income through a working job. He is making through investments which gets taxed again. Yahoo, your dangerous with news. Its wrong and I wish you would be accountable.

Can you HONESTLY tell me that it is cheaper to have Korea build and ship a car for less than what America can do? Oh well, you get what you pay for!

Many cars today are built with parts from around the globe. Some people say that you can't
really even buy a truly (fully) American made car. However, this does not address the issue
of what happens to the GROSS PROFIT from the sale of any vehicle. I prefer that this GROSS PROFIT go to an American company, to benefit OUR economy. This is true without
regard to where the car is built, or where the parts come from.

amen Richard!!! I have a GMC, Ford and Plymouth
    • Honey 4 months ago
GROSS PROFIT is spent here. You mean NET PROFIT - The amount of money left over after all expenses. GROSS PROFIT - The amount of profit after the bill of materials that typically gets spent on overhead, labor and other miscellaneous expense.

BMW, Toyota, Honda, Kia, Mercedes all build cars here in the U.S. with American labor. MOST WITHOUT UNIONS!!!
