The Yemen-based al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula is proving to be a tenacious enemy to the U.S. . The group is at the heart of what American officials say is a credible and specific terrorist threat that shut down U.S. diplomatic facilities. White House spokesman Jay Carney said The White House will have an announcement in coming days about whether President Barack Obama will attend a summit in Moscow this fall, U.S. diplomatic posts in 19 cities in the Mideast and Africa will remain closed for the rest of the week amid intercepted "chatter" about terror threats, which lawmakers briefed on the information likened to intelligence picked up before the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
