The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) consists of fixed income securities rated below investment grade. It invests in corporate bonds and debentures, convertible securities (securities that may be exchanged, at the option of the holder, for equity securities), bank loans, preferred securities, zero coupon obligations, pay-in-kind bonds and debt securities that are issued by U.S. and foreign issuers, including governments.
