| Warwick Valley Telephone Company provides communication services to the residential and business customers in the United States. The company operates in two segments, Telephone and Online. The Telephone segment provides telecommunications services, including local network services, network access services, and long distance services, as well as directory services, which include publishing yellow and white page directories, and selling advertising in these directories. It also offers billing and collection services to other carriers, as well as resells toll telephone services. The Online segment provides broadband and dial-up Internet services and operations, as well as video over very high bit rate digital subscriber line and asymmetric digital subscriber line. This segment also offers banner advertising, domain name registration, and Web hosting services. As of December 31, 2008, the company provided telephone services to customers through 20,012 access lines in the contiguous towns of Warwick, Goshen, and Wallkill, New York, as well as in the townships of West Milford and Vernon, New Jersey.
