SM&R identifies candidate stock investments based on (1) low equity valuation or low relative equity valuation and (2) improving earnings. It generally purchases a higher proportion of stocks (relative to their market weight) from those sectors of the market with higher growth prospects and a smaller proportion of stocks (relative to their market weight) from sectors of the market with below average growth characteristics. |
