This segment also provides various specialized fabrications for its customers through a network of pre-qualified subcontractors that thermally processes, turns, polishes, and straightens alloy and carbon bar. The Plastics segment stocks and distributes plastics in various forms, including plate, rod, tube, clear sheet, tape, gaskets, and fittings, as well as provides various processing activities comprising cut to length, cut to shape, bending, and forming according to customer specifications. The company offers its products and services to aerospace and defense, oil and gas, power generation, mining, heavy equipment manufacturing, marine, office furniture and fixtures, transportation, and general manufacturing industries. In addition, it holds a 50% joint venture interest in Kreher Steel Co., a Midwest metals distributor. The company was founded in 1890 and is headquartered in Franklin Park, Illinois. |
