Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. owns and operates crude oil and liquid petroleum transportation and storage assets; and natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation, and marketing assets in the United States. Its Liquids segment operates the Lakehead system that spans approximately 1,900 miles and includes approximately 5,100 miles of pipe, as well as 72 crude oil storage tanks with a capacity of approximately 14 million barrels; the Mid-Continent system, which consists of approximately 435 miles of crude oil pipelines and 20.5 million barrels of crude oil storage capacity; and the North Dakota system that includes approximately 240 miles of crude oil gathering lines. This segment serves integrated oil companies, independent oil producers, refiners, marketers, and small independent owner/operators. The company’s Natural Gas segment operates the East Texas system that consists of approximately 3,900 miles of natural gas gathering and transportation pipelines, 8 natural gas treating plants, and 5 natural gas processing plants; the Anadarko system comprising approximately 2,900 miles of natural gas gathering and transportation pipelines and 11 natural gas processing plants; and North Texas system that includes approximately 4,600 miles of natural gas gathering pipelines and 9 natural gas processing plants. This segment also transports natural gas liquids, crude oil, and other products by pipelines, trucks, and railcars. As of December 31, 2012, its fleet was approximately 250 trucks and approximately 300 trailers. This segment serves purchasers and producers of natural gas, and wholesale customers. Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P.’s Marketing segment offers natural gas supply, transportation, balancing, storage, and sales services to industrial, utility, and power plant end use customers.
