It also provides ancillary services in the hotel, resort, conference center, and golf markets, which include insurance and risk management placed through a licensed broker, purchasing and project management, information technology and telecommunications, and centralized accounting functions. As of December 31, 2008, Interstate Hotels & Resorts and its affiliates managed 226 hotel properties with 46,448 rooms, and 6 ancillary service centers, which consist of a convention center, a spa facility, 2 restaurants, and 2 laundry centers in 37 states, the District of Columbia, Russia, Mexico, Canada, Belgium, and Ireland.
