It also provides aesthetics products, which include combination infrared/visible wavelength laser, visible (green), and infrared consoles; and aesthetics delivery devices, such as tracing instruments to treat small cutaneous surface lesions; handheld instruments to treat vascular and pigmented skin lesions; a handheld instrument to treat vascular, pigmented cutaneous skin lesions, and small area hair reduction; and a computer pattern generator to treat larger-area vascular and pigmented skin lesions. The company offers its dermatology laser systems for treating skin diseases, including vascular, pigmented, and cutaneous lesions, as well as acne, skin rejuvenation, hair reduction, leg veins, hair reduction, wrinkle reduction, scars, and acne scar reduction. IRIDEX offers its products to ophthalmologists specializing in retina, glaucoma, and pediatrics; dermatologists; plastic surgeons; research and teaching hospitals; government installations; surgical centers; and hospitals through direct sales force and distributors. The company was formerly known as IRIS Medical Instruments, Inc. and changed its name to IRIDEX Corporation in 1995. IRIDEX was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Mountain View, California. |
