| Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Inc., through its subsidiaries, engages in developing and managing specialty risk management programs for defined client groups and their members in the United States. It operates in two segments, Agency Operations and Specialty Insurance Operations. The Agency Operations segment produces commercial, personal lines, life, and accident and health insurance with various unaffiliated insurance carriers. The Specialty Insurance Operations segment provides services and coverages, which include risk management consulting, claims administration and handling, loss control and prevention, and reinsurance placement. It also provides various property and casualty insurance coverage, including workersÂ’ compensation, commercial multiple peril, general liability, commercial auto liability, and inland marine primarily to associations or similar groups of members, and specified classes of business. This segment also includes insurance fee-for-service specialty programs, which provides management and other services, such as program design and development, underwriting, reinsurance placement, policy administration, loss prevention and control, claims administration and handling, litigation management, information technology and processing, accounting functions, and general management and oversight of the program; and insurance company specialty programs that provides fully insured, captives, and client risk-sharing programs. The company also operates retail insurance agencies, which primarily place commercial insurance, as well as personal property, casualty, life and accident, and health insurance with various insurance carriers. It offers business and risk management solutions for agents, professional and trade associations, pools, trusts, and small to medium-sized insureds. The company was founded in 1955 and is headquartered in Southfield, Michigan. |
