ArcelorMittal sells its steel products primarily in local markets and through its centralized marketing organization in approximately 170 countries. The company provides its steel products to the automotive, appliance, engineering, construction, and machinery industries. It also produces various types of mining products, including iron ore lump, fines, concentrate, and sinter feed, as well as coking, PCI, and thermal coal. ArcelorMittal has iron ore mining activities in Algeria, Brazil, Bosnia, Canada, Kazakhstan, Liberia, Mexico, Ukraine, and the United States; and coal mining activities in Kazakhstan, Russia, and the United States. The company was formerly known as Mittal Steel Company N.V. and changed its name to ArcelorMittal upon completing its merger with Arcelor in September 2007. The company was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Luxembourg.
