As of August 19, 2014, it operated approximately 1,352 pet stores; and 200 in-store PetSmart PetsHotel dog and cat boarding facilities in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The company also offers pet food and pet products through an e-commerce site, PetSmart, Inc. was founded in 1986 and is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
