| The investment seeks high current income consistent with prudent capital risk and capital appreciation. The fund invests at least 80% of assets plus borrowings for investment purposes in fixed-income securities issued or guaranteed by the u.s. government, agencies and instrumentalities and investment-grade corporate debt securities. It may invest up to 25% of assets in investment-grade dollar denominated debt securities of foreign companies and governments. It invests up to 10% of net assets in non-investment-grade securities.
