This segments product line includes Schmitt Dynamic Balance System that consists of a computerized control unit, vibration sensor, spindle mounting adapter, balance head, and an optional Acoustical Emission Monitoring system. It serves the manufacturers and operators of grinding machines for automotive, aerospace, medical, and machine tools industries. The companys Measurement segment manufactures and markets a line of laser-based precision measurement products and an ultrasonic product for measuring the fill levels of liquid propane tanks, as well as operates a precision laser light scatter measurement laboratory. This segments laser-based surface roughness measurement products consists of TMS-2000-RC product, a non-contact texture measurement system; and TMS-2000-DUV-RC product that measures the surface micro roughness of ceramic/glass; laser-based distance measurement and dimensional sizing, which comprises AR series sensors and scanners. It also offers remote tank monitoring products, such as Xact product that detects and measures the capacity and volume of chemical storage tanks; research and other measurement products, including CASI Scatterometers, which measure surface quality, optical performance, smoothness, appearance, defects, and contamination of materials. This segment offers its products primarily to the manufacturers of hard disk drives, silicon wafers, and optical products. The company sells its products through independent manufacturers representatives and distributors. Schmitt Industries, Inc. was founded in 1984 and is based in Portland, Oregon. |
