| SureWest Communications, through its subsidiaries, provides telecommunications, digital video, and other facilities-based communication services to residential, business, and carrier customers in northern California. The company operates through two segments, Telecommunications and Broadband. The Telecommunications segment offers landline telecommunications services, digital subscriber line service, long distance services, and certain non-regulated services. It also provides local services, toll telephone services, network access services, and certain non-regulated services. In addition, this segment offers intrastate, interstate, and international long distance services, including calling card and 800 services, as well as resells long distance services. The Broadband segment utilizes fiber-to-the-premise and fiber-to-the-node networks to offer bundled residential and commercial services that include Internet protocol-based digital and high-definition television, high-speed Internet, voice over Internet protocol, and local and long distance telephone in the greater Sacramento region and Kansas City area. SureWest Communications was founded in 1914 and is based in Roseville, California. |
