    Chad M. Kilmer, a principal of William Blair & Company, L.L.C., has co-managed the Small Cap Value Fund since 2006, has co-managed the Mid Cap Value Fund since its inception in 2010, and has co-managed the Small-Mid Cap Value Fund since its inception in 2011. He joined the firm in 2006. Prior to joining William Blair, he was employed by US Bancorp Asset Management from 2004 to 2006 in various capacities, including small cap value equity portfolio management and buy-side research. Previously, he was an investment analyst at Gabelli Woodland Partners, a subsidiary of Gabelli Asset Management. He has the Charted Financial Analyst designation. Education: B.S.B., University of Minnesota; M.B.A., Yale University School of Management.

    Fund Summary 
    The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its total assets in equity securities of small capitalized ("small cap") companies. It invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of equity securities, including common stocks and other forms of equity investments, of small cap domestic companies that the advisor believes offer a long- term investment value. For purposes of the fund, the advisor considers a company to be a small cap company if it has a market capitalization no larger than the largest capitalized company included in the Russell 2000® Value Index at the time of the fund's investment.
