BUSINESS SUMMARY 
Weyerhaeuser Company grows and harvests trees, builds homes, and manufactures forest products worldwide. The company manages approximately 6 million of private commercial forestland and leases the other 700,000 acres; and has renewable long-term licenses on 15.2 million acres of forestland. It grows and harvests trees for use as lumber, pulp and paper, and other wood and building products; and offers logs, timber, minerals, oil, gas, seed and seedlings, and poles, as well as plywood and hardwood lumber. The company also manufacturers and distributors wood products; provides softwood lumber, engineered lumber, structural panels, and other specialty products to the residential structural frame market; delivers homebuilding solutions; sells its products and services primarily through its sales organizations and distribution facilities, and supplements its product offerings with building materials; markets its products into the repair and remodel market through the wood preserving and home-improvement warehouse channels; and manufactures and sells hardwood and softwood lumber and panels to manufacturers of furniture and cabinetry, as well as exports engineered building materials and industrial hardwood products. In addition, Weyerhaeuser Company provides cellulose fibers for specialty markets; and offers fluff pulp, paper grade pulp, specialty chemical cellulose pulp, slush pulp, and wet lap pulp, which is distributed through a direct sales network, as well as manufactures liquid packaging board used primarily for the production of containers for liquid products. Further, it engages in the construction of single-family housing, and develops residential lots for its use and for sale, as well as provides residential homebuilding investment management services. The company was formerly known as Weyerhaeuser Timber Company and changed its name to Weyerhaeuser Company. Weyerhaeuser Company was founded in 1900 and is based in Federal Way, Washington.
