As of December 31, 2012, this segment had a fleet of 8,486 tractors, including 7,643 owned tractors and 843 leased tractors; and 34,767 trailers, including 31,922 owned trailers and 2,845 leased trailers. The company’s Regional Transportation segment service portfolio includes regional delivery, which comprises next-day local area delivery and second-day services, consolidation/distribution services, protect-from-freezing and hazardous materials handling, and various specialized offerings; expedited delivery that consists of day-definite, hour-definite, and time definite capabilities; inter-regional delivery; and cross-border delivery, as well as the operation of my.yrcregional.com and NewPenn.com, which are e-commerce Websites offering online resources to manage transportation activities. As of December 31, 2012, this segment had a fleet of 5,656 owned and 430 leased tractors, and 12,877 owned and 50 leased trailers. The company was formerly known as Yellow Roadway Corporation and changed its name to YRC Worldwide Inc. in January 2006. YRC Worldwide Inc. was founded in 1924 and is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas.
