| Andrea Electronics Corporation designs, develops, and manufactures microphone technologies and products for speech-based applications software and communications. The companys digital signal processing (DSP) microphone and audio software products include the use of various technologies, such as Digital Super Directional Array microphone technology that enables far-field communications by centering microphone sensitivity on a users voice and canceling noise outside of that signal; PureAudio, a noise canceling algorithm; EchoStop, an acoustic echo canceller for use with conferencing systems and cellular car phone kits; SuperBeam, a digital algorithm that forms an acoustic beam, which extends from the microphone to the speech source in an environment; and Direction Finding and Tracking Array that detects the presence of a users voice. Its DSP microphone and audio software products also comprise Superbeam Array Microphone, AudioCommander, AutoArray Microphone, and VoiceCenter. Andreas anti-noise products consist of Noise Cancellation (NC) Microphone Technology that reduces the transmission of noise from the speakers location; Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Microphone Technology that electronically cancels the transmission of noise from the speakers location; and Active Noise Reduction (ANR) Earphone Technology, which electronically reduces the amount of noise. Its anti-noise products include a line of headsets, handsets, and related accessories that incorporate the NC, ANC, and ANR technologies. The companys products are used in personal computers, mobile personal computing devices, cellular and other wireless communication devices, and automotive communication systems. Andrea markets its products directly to end users through its Web site and computer product distributors, as well as through value-added resellers to original equipment manufacturers and software publishers worldwide.
