The company also operates CBOT, a marketplace for trading agricultural and the U.S. Treasury futures, as well as options on futures; NYMEX for trading energy futures and options contracts, including contracts for crude oil, natural gas, heating oil, and gasoline, as well as over-the-counter energy transactions cleared through CME ClearPort; and COMEX for trading metal futures and options contracts, such as contracts for gold, silver, and copper. In addition, it offers market data services comprising live quotes, delayed quotes, market reports, and historical data services as well as engages in index services business. The company trades its products through the CME Globex electronic trading platform and open outcry auction markets, as well as through privately negotiated transactions that are cleared and settled through its CME clearing house. Its customer base includes professional traders, financial institutions, institutional and individual investors, corporations, manufacturers, producers, and governments. The company was formerly known as Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. and changed its name to CME Group Inc. in July 2007.
