| Cohu, Inc. engages in the development, manufacture, marketing, sale, and servicing of test handling and burn-in related equipment, and thermal sub-systems for the semiconductor industry worldwide. The company operates in three segments: Semiconductor Equipment, Television Cameras, and Microwave Communications. The Semiconductor Equipment segment develops and manufactures semiconductor test handlers that are used to automate testing of the packaged integrated circuit in the back end of the semiconductor manufacturing process. It also offers burn-in related equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing for quality control purposes; and thermal sub-systems, which maintain and control the temperature of the integrated circuit during the burn-in testing process. This segment serves semiconductor manufacturers and test subcontractors. The Television Cameras segment offers closed circuit television cameras and systems; camera control equipment; and accessories, including monitors, lenses, and camera test equipment. This segment serves machine vision, traffic control and management, scientific imaging, and security/surveillance markets. The Microwave Communications segment designs and manufactures microwave communications equipment, antenna systems, and associated equipment used in the transmission of video, audio, and telemetry; and in other applications, including electronic news gathering, unmanned aerial vehicles, law enforcement, and security and surveillance. This segmentÂ’s customers include television broadcasters, entertainment companies, professional sports teams, government agencies, law enforcement and public safety organizations, and unmanned air vehicle program contractors. The company markets its products directly, as well as through independent sales representatives. The company was formerly known as Cohu Electronics, Inc. and changed its name to Cohu, Inc. in 1972. Cohu, Inc. was founded in 1947 and is based in Poway, California. |
