Cardiac Science Corporation develops, manufactures, and markets diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology devices and systems in North America, Europe, and Asia. The company’s cardiac monitoring products include resting ECG systems that allow physicians to record and analyze patient ECG waveforms; stress testing systems to monitor and analyze the performance of the heart under stress; Holter monitoring systems to record and assess the performance of a patient’s heart during various activities; and cardiac rehabilitation telemetry systems to monitor the patient’s heart rate, heart rhythm, and ECG waveform data during rehabilitation exercises. It also offers cardiology data management systems that automate the processing, storage, retrieval, and editing of electrocardiograms and other patient data; and lead wires and electrodes, and cardiology related products, such as blood pressure monitors and spirometers. The company’s defibrillation products include public access automated external defibrillators (AEDs) that are deployed in various settings comprising educational institutions, fire and police departments, ambulances, railroads, airports, military bases, hospitals, health clubs, physician and dental offices, and municipal agencies; and professional AEDs for use by hospital personnel, medical professionals, and emergency medical technicians. It also offers traditional defibrillators in critical care and cardiac care units, emergency and operating rooms, electrophysiology labs, medical transport environments, and alternate care facilities; and defibrillation supplies and accessories, including electrodes and batteries, training devices, wall cabinets, and carrying cases. In addition, the company provides training, maintenance, and support services. It sells its products through its sales force, independent distributors, direct sales representatives, and third party distributors. The company was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Bothell, Washington.
