| Caspian Services, Inc. provides various oilfield services in western Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea. The company operates in three segments: Vessel Operations, Geophysical Services, and Infrastructure Development. The Vessel Operations segment charters a fleet of shallow draft offshore support vessels designed for use in the shallow waters of the north Caspian Sea. This segment operates 15 shallow draft vessels, which include supply vessels, seismic source and survey/utility vessels, anchor handling multicats and support vessel tugs, cable laying barges, accommodations vessels, and crewboats. The Geophysical services segment provides onshore, transition zone, and marine seismic data acquisition services to independent oil and gas exploration and development companies. The Infrastructure Development segment operates a water desalinization plant in the Port of Bautino, which purifies drinking water for sale in bulk and in bottles. This segment also engages in the development and planned operation of a ship maintenance facility located at the Port of Bautino. The company, formerly known as EMPS Corporation, was founded in 1998 and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. |
