Geron Corporation also develops human embryonic stem cell-based therapeutics, with its spinal cord injury treatment. The company has research, development, and commercialization license agreement with Merck & Co., Inc. to use telomerase in non-dendritic cell cancer vaccines; and a license agreement with Sienna Cancer Diagnostics to detect telomerase for in vitro cancer diagnosis.
