| The Wilber Corporation operates as the holding company for Wilber National Bank, which provides commercial and consumer financial products primarily in north and west of the Catskill Mountains in central New York. It primarily engages in generating deposits and originating loans. The companys deposit products include demand deposit accounts, interest bearing transaction accounts, money market accounts, statement savings accounts, passbook savings accounts, and fixed and variable rate certificates of deposit. Its lending activities comprise commercial lending primarily to small and mid-sized businesses; mortgage lending for 1-4 family and multi-family properties, including home equity loans; mortgage lending for commercial properties; consumer installment and automobile lending; and agricultural lending. The company also provides personal trust, agency, estate administration, and retirement planning services for individuals, as well as custodial and investment management services to institutions. In addition, it offers ATM and electronic/Internet banking services; stocks, bonds, and mutual funds through a third party broker-dealer firm; and a line of life, health, and property and casualty insurance products. As of December 31, 2008, it operated through 23 full service branch banking offices located in Otsego, Delaware, Schoharie, Chenango, Ulster, Broome counties, Saratoga, and Onondaga counties, New York. In addition, the company operates representative loan production offices in Oneonta, and Clifton Park, New York. The company was founded in 1874 and is headquartered in Oneonta, New York. |
