| Helios Strategic Income Fund, Inc is a closed ended fixed income mutual fund launched and managed by Brookfield Investment Management Inc. The fund invests in the fixed income markets across the globe. It makes its investments in investment grade and below investment grade debt securities including corporate bonds, mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, and municipal and foreign government obligations, as well as securities of companies in bankruptcy reorganization proceedings or otherwise in the process of debt restructuring which are rated Ba1 or lower by Moody's Investors Service, Inc., BB+ or lower by Standard & Poor's Ratings Group to create its portfolio. The fund employs fundamental analysis with a bottom-up approach to make its investments. It benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the Lehman Brothers Ba U.S. High Yield Index. The fund was formerly known as RMK Strategic Income Fund, Inc. Helios Strategic Income Fund, Inc was formed on March 18, 2004 and is domiciled in the United States. |
