The Telecom Sector provides local exchange wireline telephone, long distance, DSL, and digital TV services. It also offers data processing and related services for its affiliated incumbent local exchange carriers, competitive local exchange carriers, local exchange telephone companies, interexchange network carriers, wireless companies, and cable TV providers. These services include processing of long distance telephone calls from data sources and telephone switches, preparation of subscriber telephone bills, customer record keeping, and carrier access bills. In addition, this segment owns and operates fiber optic network and facilities in Minnesota to transport interexchange communications as a service to telecommunications customers. The Enventis Sector distributes telecommunications and data processing equipment, as well as provides network and equipment monitoring, maintenance, and equipment consulting services. This segment also provides fiber-based transport for regional and national telecommunications carriers, wireless carriers, and other providers. In addition, it offers centrally managed and hosted unified communications services. This segment serves businesses primarily in the upper Midwest. The company has a strategic partnership with Cisco Systems, Inc. Hickory Tech Corporation was founded in 1898 and is headquartered in Mankato, Minnesota. |
