The investment seeks high level of current income consistent with liquidity and safety of principal. The fund invests primarily in investment-grade bonds with maturities of 1-3 years. It normally invests at least 65% of assets in bonds that are rated within the three highest long-term or two highest short-term rating categories. Main types of securities it may hold are U.S. Treasury Obligations, U.S. Government Agency Securities, Corporate Debt Securities, and Mortgage-backed Securities. The fund normally invests at least 80% of the value of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in bonds.
