Lakeland Industries, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells safety garments and accessories for the industrial protective clothing market in the United States and internationally. It offers limited use/disposable protective clothing, including coveralls, lab coats, shirts, pants, hoods, aprons, sleeves, and smocks that provide protection from chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, paint, grease, and dust; hazardous waste and toxic chemicals; and viruses and bacteria at hospitals, clinics, and emergency rescue sites. The company also offers heavy duty chemical suits to provide protection from powerful, highly concentrated, and hazardous or potentially lethal chemical and biological toxins, toxic chemical spills or biological discharges, chemical or biological warfare weapons, and hazardous chemicals and petro-chemicals. In addition, it provides fire fighting and heat protective apparel, which give protection from fire, burns, and excessive heat; gloves and arm guards for protection against cuts, lacerations, heat, hazardous chemicals, and dermatological irritants; and reusable woven garments to protect from bacteria, viruses, blood borne pathogens, and flash fires, as well as to protect manufactured products from human contamination or static electrical charge. Further, the company offers visibility clothing, including flame retardant and reflective garments to protect from heat, flame, and sparks. Lakeland Industries sells its products to chemical/petrochemical, utilities, automobile, integrated oil, steel, glass, construction, smelting, munition plants, janitorial, pharmaceutical, mortuaries, and electronics manufacturers, as well as scientific and medical laboratories; and federal, state, and local governmental agencies and departments. The company was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Ronkonkoma, New York.
