The companys Piping System segment engineers, designs, manufactures, and sells specialty piping systems, and leak detection and location systems. This segments specialty piping systems include industrial and secondary containment piping systems for transporting chemicals, waste streams, and petroleum liquids; insulated and jacketed district heating and cooling piping systems for energy distribution to various locations from central energy plants; and oil and gas gathering flow and long lines for oil and mineral transportation. Its leak detection and location systems are used to monitor areas, where fluid intrusion might contaminate the environment and endanger personal safety. Its Filtration Products segment manufactures and sells filter elements for air filtration and particulate collection systems. It markets air filtration-related products and accessories; and provides maintenance services consisting of dust collector inspection, filter cleaning, and filter replacement. This segments products and services are used primarily by the operators of utility and industrial coal-fired boilers, incinerators, and cogeneration plants. The companys Industrial Process Cooling Equipment segment engages in the engineering, design, manufacture, and sale of industrial process cooling equipment, including liquid chillers, mold temperature controllers, cooling towers, plant circulating systems, and related accessories for use in industrial process applications. This segment markets its products to thermoplastics processing and printing industries, original equipment manufacturers, and cooling manufacturers, as well as to manufacturers in the laser, metallizing, and machine tool industries. The company also engages in HVAC systems installation. MFRI, Inc. was founded in 1989 and is based in Niles, Illinois. |
