| National Dentex Corporation engages in the design, fabrication, marketing, and sale of custom dental prosthetic appliances for and to dentists. The company offers restorative, reconstructive, and cosmetic products. Its restorative products comprise crowns and bridges; and various porcelain jackets, which are crowns constructed of porcelain; onlays, which are partial crowns that do not cover full visible tooth; precision crowns, which are restorations to receive and connect a removable partial denture; and inlays, which are restorations made to fit a prepared tooth cavity and then cemented into place. The companys reconstructive products include partial dentures that are removable dental prostheses, which replace missing teeth and associated structures; and full dentures, which dental prostheses that substitute for the loss of teeth and associated structures. Its cosmetic products primarily comprise porcelain veneers that are coverings of porcelain cemented to the front of a tooth to enhance personal appearance; and ceramic crowns, which are crowns made from ceramic materials that replicate natural teeth. The company also sells precision attachments, which connect a crown and an artificial prosthesis; implants which are fixtures anchored in the bone of the mouth to which a crown, partial, or full denture is secured; and composite inlays and onlays, which replace silver fillings, as well as orthodontic appliances to move existing teeth to enhance function and appearance. As of December 31, 2008, it owned and operated 46 dental laboratories, comprising of 41 full-service dental laboratories and 5 branch laboratories in the United States and Canada. The company was formerly known as H&M Laboratories Services, Inc. and changed its name to National Dentex Corporation in 1983. National Dentex Corporation was founded in 1982 and is based in Natick, Massachusetts. |
