In addition, OraSure Technologies provides immunoassay tests and reagents for insurance risk assessment, substance abuse testing, and forensic toxicology applications; an oral fluid Western blot HIV-1 confirmatory test; and Q.E.D., a point-of-care saliva alcohol test. It develops Homogeneous DOA Assays; cryosurgical systemsOTC for an indication other than common warts or plantar warts; and OraQuick, a point-of-care testing platform. Further, the company provides various diagnostic products, including immunoassays and in vitro diagnostic tests that are used on other specimen types, and medical devices. OraSure Technologies sells its products through direct sales, strategic partnerships, and independent distributors to clinical laboratories, hospitals, clinics, community-based organizations and public health organizations, distributors, government agencies, physicians offices, and commercial and industrial entities in the United States, Europe, and internationally. It has collaboration agreements with Roche Diagnostics and Schering-Plough Corporation. The company was founded in 1979 and is based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. |
