The company operates in four segments: Domestic XTRAC, International Dermatology Equipment, Skin Care (ProCyte), and Surgical Products. The Domestic XTRAC segment develops, manufactures, and markets XTRAC excimer laser and delivery systems, and techniques used in the treatment of inflammatory skin disorders, including psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, and leukoderma. The International Dermatology Equipment segment sells dermatology laser systems to distributors, as well as directly to physicians. It also markets VTRAC, a lamp-based UVB system to treat psoriasis and vitiligo. The Skin Care (ProCyte) segment sells skin health, hair care, and wound care products, and copper peptide compound, as well as licenses patented copper peptide compound. Its products are used for applications in dermatology, plastic and cosmetic surgery, and spa markets. The Surgical Products segment develops, manufactures, markets, and sells proprietary lasers and delivery systems for contact and non-contact surgery. It also offers non-laser surgical products. This segment provides laser products and disposables to hospitals and surgery centers. PhotoMedex, Inc. was formerly known as Laser Photonics, Inc. The company was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. |
