| Aries Maritime Transport Limited, through its subsidiaries, engages in the ownership and chartering of ocean-going vessels worldwide. The companys product tankers transport various refined petroleum products, such as gasoline, jet fuel, kerosene, naphtha, and heating oil, as well as edible oils in segregated and coated cargo tanks. Its container vessels are utilized in the North/South trade routes that link Europe and Asia with Latin America, Africa, India, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as East/West trade routes, which link Europe with the Far East and the United States. As of June 25, 2009, the companys fleet had nine product tankers, including five double-hulled MR tankers and four double-hulled Panamax tankers; and three container vessels.
