It also distributes laser diodes for diode manufacturers, as well as develops and manufactures LED systems and specialty optical fiber. The company operates in three segments: Laser Products, Photonic Products, and Optical Components. The Photonic Products segment manufactures thermo-electrically cooled laser modules, laser alignment systems, circular beam laser diode modules and elliptical beam modules, receptacle packaged laser diodes, and pigtailed laser diodes. These products are used in medical, commercial, and other industrial applications. The Optical Components segment engages in the design and manufacture of specialty optical fiber, fiber assemblies, and phase masks primarily used by manufacturers of fiber optic sensors, fiber optic gyroscopes, fiber lasers, and optical amplifiers in industrial, defense, medical, and telecommunications markets. The company sells its products directly, as well as through distributors and integrators to original equipment manufacturers primarily in Europe and the Pacific Rim.
