| The investment seeks a high level of current income exempt from federal and Hawaii state income taxes, consistent with preservation of capital and prudent investment management. The fund normally invests at least 90% of assets in municipal securities within the four highest credit quality ratings assigned by S&P's Ratings Services or Moody's Investors Service, or in unrated municipal securities judged by the investment manager to be of comparable quality. It may invest more than 25% assets in a particular segment of the municipal bond market. The fund is nondiversified. |
