The investment seeks high current income consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80% of the value of assets in fixed-income securities such as U.S. government and agency securities, corporate debt securities, mortgage-backed securities, preferred stock and taxable municipal bonds. It may invest up to 15% of total assets in securities which are non-investment grade or unrated. The fund normally not invests in fixed income securities which are rated below B by S&P or by Moody's or are currently in default.
